Abstract:   (736 Views)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between self-determination and achievement goals with academic performance. The statistical population of this study included all high school students in Zahedan in the academic year 1401-1400, 210 of whom were selected as a sample by multi-stage cluster sampling. The research instruments were Lagardia et al.'s (2000) Basic Psychological Needs Questionnaire and Migli et al.'s (1998) Developmental Objectives, which had acceptable validity and reliability. Also, to measure academic performance, the average grade point average of the first term of the academic year 1401-1400 was used. In order to analyze the data, inferential statistics of Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression were used using SPSS-23 software. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between self-determination and academic performance and between achievement goals and academic performance. The results showed that self-determination and achievement goals are predictors of academic performance.
