The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of Guttman's couples therapy training on couples' lifestyles. The statistical population of this research includes all the couples who referred to the Razi Counseling Center in Tehran (Baharestan city), the statistical sample of this research was 15 couples (30 people) who were selected by purposive sampling method and Taghizadeh and Razavi's Relaxation Lifestyle Questionnaire (2016) completed The sample participated in 12 sessions of couples therapy using the Gutman method (45 minutes each session). It should be noted that 11 couples (22 persons) remained until the end of the research and a post-test was taken from them. In data analysis, descriptive statistics (central indices, dispersion) and inferential statistics (multivariate analysis of variance with repeated measurements) and SPSS23 software were used. The results of the research indicated that Guttman's couples therapy training was effective in improving the overall score of couples' relaxed lifestyle, and its effectiveness remained significantly stable after one month of sessions. Also, the results showed that Gutman couple therapy training for couples had a significant effect on the emotional and social relaxation oriented lifestyle subscales, but it did not show a significant effect on the psychological relaxation oriented lifestyle.
