Abstract

The present study aimed to predict the return to drug use based on the initial maladaptive schemas and lifestyle in patients undergoing Methadone maintenance treatment. The method of this research was descriptive correlation type. The statistical population of this research was all addicts undergoing maintenance treatment with Methadone who were referred to treatment and addiction treatment centers in Qom City in 2017. The sample size of this study was 250 drug addicts who were selected through multi-stage cluster sampling among drug addicts referring to Methadone withdrawal centers.The short-form Young schema questionnaire, the Health Promoting lifestyle questionnaire ,and the Return to addiction questionnaire were used to collect data. Also,the data of this research with Pearson and Regression test for each of the variables show that about 30 % of the changes in returning to addiction canbe explained by seven schemas. R2=30 and lifestyle could negatively explain 13 % of the return to addiction R2=13.
