This study is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test design with control group. The statistical population includes all those living in the center of Article 16 of Mashhad women who suffer from substance abuse. According to the report of the director of the center, the total number of inhabitants was 157 persons. The sample was selected by purposeful voluntary sampling and after estimation of entry and exit criteria, 40 individuals were selected and randomly assigned to 15 experimental and 15 control groups. Data were collected using two measures of subjective well-being by Keiz and Magyarmo (2003) and the Interpersonal Problems Questionnaire of Barkham et al. (1994). After applying the selection theory, the collected data were analyzed at both descriptive and inferential levels. The results showed that there was a difference between a dependent variable on the relationship between individual and psychological well-being in the experimental and control groups. In other words, choice theory has a significant positive effect on the dependent variables of the research. Finally, the findings of the study showed that choice theory improved the interpersonal relationships and psychological well-being of 18-50 year old women living in Camp 16 in Mashhad.
