The purpose of this study was to compare perfectionism and academic achievement in senior psychology students with relevant and unrelated bachelor's degrees. The statistical population of this study was all postgraduate students in Tehran in year 1. The research samples were from the master's degree students of all free universities of Tehran with relevant and unrelated bachelor's degree so that 4 students with related bachelor's degree and 2 students with unrelated bachelor's degree were selected by cluster sampling method. The perfectionism questionnaire of Hill et al. (2004) and the Hermans Academic Achievement Questionnaire (1970) were used to collect data. Multivariate analysis of variance was used to analyze the data. The results showed that postgraduate psychology students with unrelated bachelor's degrees compared to students with related degrees in the components of striving for excellence, high standards for others, need for approval, focus on mistakes, and the average ruminant thought ruminant. Higher scores were also obtained, and postgraduate psychology students with unrelated bachelor's degrees scored higher than students with related undergraduate degrees in both variable of academic achievement motivation and grade point average.
