The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness on the quality of life and mental rumination of female students. This research was different from the control group in terms of practical purpose and semi-experimental type of pre-test-post-test design. The statistical population in this research included all female students in the Islamic Azad University of Quds branch in the academic year of 1402-1401, of which 30 were randomly selected. The selected subjects were divided into two experimental and control groups. Mindfulness training was provided for 8 sessions for the experimental group. The participants of these two groups completed War et al.'s quality of life questionnaire and Nolen-Hoeksma and Morrow's rumination questionnaire in two stages (before and after training). The research data collection tool was library method to determine the relationship between the research variables and the field method using the standard questionnaires of the quality of life of Var et al. In order to calculate validity, content validity was used and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to calculate reliability, and the results indicated the validity and reliability of the research tool. The data analysis method in the first part was descriptive statistics including mean, standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis to describe the variables as well as percentage, frequency, table and graph to describe the demographic characteristics and in the second part, in order to test the research hypotheses, multivariate covariance analysis was used with Spss-V23 software. The findings showed that a significant difference was observed in the scores obtained from War et al.'s quality of life questionnaires and Nolen-Hoeksma and Moro's rumination questionnaires of the experimental group compared to the control group (P<0.05). The quality of life as well as the reduction of mental rumination is effective in female students.
