The aim of this research was the treatment based on compassion therapy on anxiety and resilience of patients with type 2 diabetes. The present research method was quasi-experimental using pre-test, post-test and experimental and control groups. The statistical population of the study consisted of all type 2 diabetics in the central part of Varamin city, Shahid Mohammad Tajik Clinic and Heydarieh Charity Clinic in 2024. For this purpose, 30 people were selected through voluntary sampling, 15 people were selected as the experimental group and they underwent compassion therapy training in 12 sessions of 75 minutes in a group once a week, and 15 people were selected as the control group, and none they did not receive training. Pre-test and post-test were taken from both groups. Data collection tools included anxiety questionnaire (Beck et al., 1988) and resilience questionnaire (Connor and Davidson, 2003). The research data were analyzed using covariance analysis. The results showed that compassion therapy training was effective at 32.8% on changes in anxiety and 57.1% on changes in resilience, and in general, the results of covariance analysis showed that therapy based on compassion therapy reduced anxiety and increased resilience. The collection of patients with type diabetes was effective. As a result, compassion-based treatment is suitable for people with type 2 diabetes because it is consistent with their daily life and behaviors during the day.
