Bird phobia is a type of social anxiety disorder that is accompanied by intense fear and anxiety when facing birds. People who suffer from this phobia may show severe anxiety symptoms in the presence or even the thought of birds. This disorder may develop due to past unpleasant or frightening experiences with birds. Other causes can include witnessing or hearing about frightening events involving birds, fear of sudden contact with birds or the danger they pose, as well as environmental and cultural influences. People with bird phobia may experience symptoms such as a relatively large fear of being close to birds, severe anxiety, not being relaxed in the presence of birds, nervous tension, unpleasant physical symptoms such as heart palpitations, shortness of breath, sweating, tremors, and a feeling of death. There are different methods to treat this type of phobia, which were discussed according to the importance of the issue.
