Abstract: (400 Views)
This study examined the effectiveness of group-based mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) interventions in improving social self-efficacy, self-regulation, and communication skills in adolescent girls aged 16 to 19. A quasi-experimental study with a pre-test/post-test design was conducted. With 30 participants who were selected through purposive sampling and divided into two groups, experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15), it was conducted. The intervention group underwent an eight-week mindfulness-based cognitive therapy program.Data collection included self-efficacy, self-regulation, and communication skills questionnaires that were administered before and after the intervention.A simultaneous analysis of variance was used to evaluate the impact of the intervention. The results indicated significant improvements in all three areas for the intervention group compared to the control group. Social self-efficacy scores significantly improved, indicating increased confidence in social interactions and reduced anxiety. The results of self-regulation indicated an increase in emotional control and a decrease in impulsivity. Additionally, the scores in communication skills indicated improvements in clarity, assertiveness, and active listening abilities. The findings indicate that mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is an effective approach for addressing psychological and social challenges during adolescence. Integrating mindfulness-based cognitive therapy into educational and therapeutic frameworks can offer significant benefits for personal and interpersonal development.
