Background & Aims: The purpose of this study was to determine the Effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment therapy on Sexual self-esteem and Marital Commitment in Couples with turbulent relationships in Tehran city in 1396.
Materials & Methods: The present study was a semi-experimental design with pretest-posttest design with control and experimental group. The statistical population of the study was all couples with disturbed relations in Tehran. They were selected by available sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental groups (15 people) and control (15 people). The experimental group received acceptance and commitment in eight 90-minute sessions of group psychotherapy intervention and the control group remained on the list. The instrument used in the research was the Sexual self-esteem Double Enha and Schuarez Questionnaire (1996) and the Marital Commitment Adams & Jones Questionnaire (1997). Data analysis was performed using spss-v22 software in two sections: descriptive and inferential (covariance).
Results: The results showed that Acceptance and Commitment therapy increased the sexual self-esteem of couples with disturbed relationships. Also, the results also showed that Acceptance and Commitment therapy increased marital couples' commitment to disturbed relationships.
Conclusion: Therefore, it can be said that group Acceptance and Commitment therapy is an effective way to improve sexual self-esteem and couples' marital commitment.
