The aim of this study was to evaluating the Mediating Role of Emotional Conflicts in the Relationship between Differentiation and Marital Satisfaction in Married People in Tehran City. The research method was correlation using structural equation analysis. The statistical population included married people in Tehran in 2019, in which 220 people were selected as the sample by available sampling method. The research instruments were: The self-critical questionnaire of Gilberg et al. (2004), Self-Determination Questionnaire of Weinberger & Schwartz (1990), Differentiation Questionnaire of Scorne and Friedlander (1998) and Enrich Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (1998). The results also showed that the mediating role of emotional conflict in relation to differentiation with marital satisfaction was significant. The results of the present study showed that emotional conflict has a significant role in the relationship between differentiation and marital satisfaction, so improving emotional conflict can affect the improvement of marital relationship and repair the damage caused by important initial relationships.
