The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of healthy dependency treatment on self-efficacy and quality of life in couples with disturbed relationships referred to counseling centers in Tehran. The method of this research was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design and control group. The statistical population of the study included all dissatisfied couples who referred to counseling centers in Tehran in 1399. The statistical sample of this study was 30 people who were selected by convenience sampling and then placed in two experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15) groups. And the control group remained on the waiting list. Data were collected based on the General Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (Scherer et al., 1982) and the quality of life of the World Health Organization. Analysis of information obtained from the questionnaire was performed through spss24 software in two parts: descriptive and inferential (covariance). Findings showed that healthy dependency-based therapy increases self-efficacy in couples with disordered relationships. The results also showed that group education of healthy dependence has increased the quality of life and its components (physical health, mental health, social relations, environmental health) in couples with disturbed relationships. Therefore, this study shows that healthy dependence can be used as an effective approach to prevent psychological damage caused by divorce in couples.
