The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between addiction to online games and social anxiety in teenagers. The statistical population of the research consists of all the students of the first secondary level of Tehran city in the second semester of the academic year 2018-2019, of which 320 people were selected based on the Morgan table and available sampling method. The measurement tool in this research was Wang and Chang's online game addiction questionnaire (2002) and Jarbak's social anxiety questionnaire (1996). Data analysis was done in two descriptive and inferential sections (Pearson correlation coefficient test and regression analysis) using SPSS-22 software. The results of the research indicated that social anxiety is a significant predictor of addiction to online games in high school students and positively predicted addiction to online games at a significance level of 0.01 with a beta coefficient of 0.14.
