Drug addiction occurs as a phenomenon in any country, whether developed or developing, and because of its consequences, this phenomenon falls into the category of social harms, which in itself is the cause of many other harms. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy on the impulsivity of adolescents with drug addiction. The research method was quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of the study included adolescent patients referred to addiction treatment camps in Tehran. The statistical sample of this study was 30 people who were selected by non-probability sampling from the available type and then randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Impulsivity questionnaire was used as a pretest, then cognitive-behavioral therapy was applied for the experimental group but no intervention was performed for the control group. In the last session, post-test was performed for both groups. Thus, the necessary data were collected to test the research hypotheses and the analysis of data was used to analyze the data. The results showed that cognitive-behavioral therapy significantly reduced the impulsivity of adolescents with addiction
