The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of logo therapy based on Rumi's ideas on mindfulness and happiness of the elderly. The statistical population of this study includes all elderly people over 60 years old living in a nursing home in Tehran in 1400. Among them, 30 elderly people who met the inclusion criteria were selected by convenience and randomly selected by lottery. Equal in the experimental and control groups were replaced. The experimental group underwent semantic therapy based on Rumi's ideas in 8 2-hour sessions. The main data of this study were obtained using the five-dimensional mindfulness questionnaire of Bauer et al. (2006) and the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (1989). Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (multivariate analysis of covariance) were used in data analysis. The results showed that logo therapy based on Rumi's ideas is effective on mindfulness and happiness of the elderly. In regard to socio-cultural construction in Iran, we strongly recommend using the culture-based therapeutic approaches.
