The purpose of this research was to predict children's anxiety based on family functioning and self-compassion with the mediation of parenting stress in mothers of preschool children in Ahvaz. The statistical population included all mothers of preschool children in Ahvaz city. For this purpose, 150 people were selected by staged cluster sampling method. The research method was path analysis correlation. To collect the data, questionnaires such as Anxiety of Spence et al (2001), Family functioning of McMaster (1983), Self-compassion of Raes (2012) & Parenting Stress of Abidin (1992) were used. For data analysis, pearson correlation coefficient & structural equation method were used (p<0.05). The results showed that all the direct paths except the path of self-compassion to children's anxiety were significant (p>0.05). Also, there was an indirect relationship between family functioning and children's anxiety through parenting stress and also between self-compassion and children's anxiety through parenting stress. The obtained results indicated the appropriateness of the model fit and the results of the research can be used to improve anxiety in children.
