The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of experimental schema therapy techniques on the adjustment of maladaptive schemas in women heads of Afghan immigrant households in Tehran In terms of applied purpose and method, the present study was a pre-test post-test with a control group with random arrangement in the subjects. The statistical population included 53 immigrant women heads of households under the auspices of Navid Mehr Social Welfare Clinic located in Valiasr town of Tehran. (10 people in the schema therapy group and 10 people in the control group) were randomly replaced. The first group underwent 8 sessions of 1.5 hour group schema therapy and the second group did not receive any treatment. The short-scale form of Young's maladaptive schemas was used for measurement. The results showed that schema therapy in modulating the schemas of emotional deprivation, disability / shame, dependence / inadequacy, vulnerability to harm and disease, afflicted / undeveloped, obedience, emotional inhibition, stubborn criteria, entitlement and self-control / self-discipline Women heads of Afghan immigrant households living in Tehran are effective. Due to the effectiveness of schema therapy, this treatment can help reduce maladaptive schemas in individuals.
