This research was conducted with the aim of studying the psychometric properties of the educational self-regulatory questionnaire by Ryan and Connell (1989). The statistical population of this study included secondary school students in Tehran during the academic year of 2022-23. The sample consisted of 373 students selected by cluster sampling. In this study, we used to evaluate the validity of the construct (exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis), and to examine the reliability of the Cronbach's alpha method. Based on the data analysis, the present study identifies four factors that explain 50.89% of the academic self-regulatory. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fit indexes are in the favorable situation. In addition, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the subscales was calculated to be between 0.78 and 0.89. Considering the optimal validity and reliability coefficients, ease of implementation, scoring and interpretation, as well as the short time to answer, it can be said that the Self-Regulatory Academic Questionnaire (SRQ-A) has the necessary qualifications to be used in psychological research for measurement.
