Abstract:   (275 Views)
The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of emotion-focused marital enrichment training on intimacy and sexual satisfaction in couples with less than 5 years of marriage. The research method was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test approach and a control group. The statistical population of this study consisted of all couples with less than 5 years of marriage who referred to counseling centers in Tehran in 2024. Using a convenience sampling method, 40 individuals were selected and randomly divided into an intervention group receiving emotion-focused marital enrichment training and a control group. Data collection was based on the Intimacy Questionnaire (Walker & Thompson, 1983) and the Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (Hudson, 1981). Multivariate analysis of covariance was used to control for pre-test effects using SPSS software. The results indicated that the emotion-focused training method had a significant effect on the intimacy scores of couples with less than 5 years of marriage. Additionally, the results showed that the marital enrichment training based on the emotion-focused approach increased the sexual satisfaction of couples. Therefore, based on the findings of the study, it can be concluded that the emotion-focused marital enrichment training method is an effective model for couples and can be utilized as one of the therapeutic or educational methods in couple therapy programs.
